Bluecar Privacy Policy – Effective 10/15/2018



Bluecar is not in business to collect data. We are not part of the big data ideology. What we collect and use is strictly for the purposes of improving our systems and helping our users do better business.

The details of these policies, as well as any exceptions, are outlined below along with a more detailed view of our policy.




This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Bluecar (“Bluecar,” or “Application”) for mobile devices that was created by CSR reConnection Technologies, LLC. The Application is an on demand mobile transportation platform where riders can choose the driver they want, and where drivers can earn more business by being a more desirable choice to riders needing transportation. 


The Information

User Provided Information 

Bluecar obtains the information you provide when you download, register a user account, and enter account content in the application. Registration with us is not required to download the app and store it on your phone. However, it is required to access the features offered by Bluecar that would make it useful for booking transportation. 

When you register an account with Bluecar, you start by choosing the type of account you wish to create – rider or driver. Next you provide your email address and phone number, then create a password for your account.


Rider Accounts
Once the account has been registered, riders will also need to fill in all account fields to unlock all features of the application.  Account fields include:

  1. first name,

  2. last name,

  3. a security image (may be a picture of yourself or of any object that you choose), and

  4. the city of your residence.

  5. A credit or debit card as a form of payment for all rides


Driver Accounts
In addition to those fields common to rider accounts (not including #5), Drivers will also need to include:

  1. Company name

  2. Image of driver’s license

  3. Image of commercial insurance policy

  4. Year/ Make/ Model of vehicle you will drive on the platform

  5. The color of the vehicle

  6. The seating capacity of the vehicle

  7. The type of body style (Sedan, Crossover, SUV, Stretch Sedan)

  8. Vehicle license plate number

  9. A Visa or Mastercard debit card for the deposit of earnings


All information is stored in our secure system with the exception of payment or deposit information (#5 for Riders and #9 for Drivers). Payment and deposit information is stored directly into a Customer Vault where it is verified, encrypted, and tokenized in compliance of Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards. A human being will never see your financial data.

We may also use the information you provided us to contact your from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices and marketing promotions. When you create a User account, you are automatically opting in to receive email communications from Bluecar. Email communications are a part of our ability to communicate news and promotions with you. You may opt-out at any time. However, opting out has no impact our right to send a direct email that pertains only to you such as receipts for transactions and account password reset instructions.



Automatically Collected Information 

In addition to User-Provided information, Bluecar may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices unique device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, and statistics about the times and dates when you use Bluecar. 


Location Information

When you open the mobile application, we use GPS technology (or other similar technology) to determine your current location. We will not share your current location with other users or partners with the exception of:

  1. the specific driver a rider has hailed, or

  2. The specific rider that a driver is on the way to pick up.


Additionally, we will share the estimated travel time from a requesting rider to all drivers in the general area without showing their exact location.


If you do not want us to use your location for the purposes set forth above, you should turn off the location services for the mobile application located in your account settings or in your mobile phone settings and/or within the mobile application. However, doing so will impede your ability to use Bluecar for its intended purpose.



Third party Access

We do not sell personal contact information to third parties. However, we may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;

  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;

  • with our trusted services providers who work on our behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

  • if CSR reConnection Technologies, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information.



What are my opt-out rights?

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network. You can opt out of marketing emails by selecting “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of such emails.



Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

We will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. We will retain Automatically Collected information for up to 24 months and thereafter may store it in aggregate. If you’d like us to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact us at and we will respond in a reasonable time. Please note that some or all of the User Provided Data and Location Data may be required in order for Bluecar to function properly.




We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 18. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.



We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Application. Please be aware that, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.




This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy within the drop down menu of the Bluecar application and by informing you via email or text message. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes. In the future, you will be able to check the history of this policy on our website. Currently, this is our first version.



Your Consent

By using Bluecar, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. "Processing,” means using cookies on a computer/hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information, all of which activities will take place in the United States. If you reside outside the United States your information will be transferred, processed and stored there under United States privacy standards.
